Church nursery pagers are now commonly seen as a positive and neccessary safety-enhancing addtition to many practicing faiths.
You may be familiar with church nursery pagers, but the possibility exists that you are not entirely sure if you are or may be in need of a nursery paging system for your church nursery. No doubt you will have created a sound curriculum and comprehensive resource materials for the children of your ministry, yet there are times that call when it is essential to look after these young folk and for which only their parents can do.
Irrespective, a common factor that all parents do consider when searching for a church is the comfort and knowledge that they have found for their treasure loved ones, a safe, welcoming and loving atmosphere that will care for their children whilst they worship. In today’s world they want to feel confident that if a need arises in the classroom, they will be discreetly and quickly notified by a nursery call system.
More and more churches are finding they need a less intrusive way of contacting the parents of children who require their attention, and this is where nursery pager systems can offer a discreet and effective option. Nursery pagers allow parents the comfort that their child is being cared for, yet they can be quickly notified if the need arises. Similarly, the church is seen in a positive manner through the implementation of this technology that shows its concerns for the welfare of both the parents and their children. A further benefit of, and by no means the least important, of church nursery pager systems is that they do ensure the pastor or minister will not be interrupted. And they do provide a far better, almost instant communication between parents and children.
This leads to the big question. What is involved in the purchasing of a nursery system and should you choose between a wired or a wireless setup? Now quite simply, the wireless paging method is essentially a radio transmitting on a specific frequency. The system is made up of a radio transmitter and anywhere from one to several dozen receivers (the pager). All the time that the pager is turned on it is receiving signals from the transmitter unit.
Compare this to a wired system, which basically involves a screen at normally placed at the front of the church that will flash an assigned number to alert the parents that their child needs attention.
The main advantage of wireless nursery paging is the anonymity involved, which can overcome the perceived embarrassment. The parent who has been assigned the wireless pager can be the only one who knows that the nursery is summoning them. Of course, this is a real sense of comfort, especially to new parents who typically feel anxious about leaving their offspring in the hands of others.
An increasingly important benefit of the wireless system is that it also effectively acts as a security system for the church. With a wireless pager, only the parent or guardian with the corresponding pager is given custody of the child. A wired system, that flashes a number on a LCD screen really can’t offer the same type of security. Nursery workers are also more likely to feel at ease with a wireless nursery call system as it allows the notification of parents practically immediately when an issue may surface.
Now most pager manufacturers offer warranties from one to three years, some at an additional cost, some not. One aspect of wireless nursery pager systems is having to is the battery life of the pager units, however most units these days recharge when placed in a charging cradle. Most systems also have a feature that automatically turns off the pager when it isn’t being used.
Wired nursery pager systems are generally the least expensive of the two options and initially may be a wise choice for churches that are growing into a medium sized congregation. As mentioned before, the wired church paging system works simply by flashing a number that has been assigned to the parent or guardian on a screen at the front of the church. This is a pretty good option for a church that may be on a small budget. And whilst the system doesn’t require additional equipment, the main drawback is that the entire congregation will see the number and therefore know the reason a parent is suddenly leaving.
Regardless of which system you ultimately choose, the installation of a nursery call system in the church will no doubt assure added peace of mind to the parents, nursery volunteers as well as fellow churchgoers.

I think wired pagers work best for their versatility but all churches are different and it’s important to research all of the options.
